Benoît Jacquot’s latest film ‘3 Coeurs’ has a very
interesting storyline with three people in a small town all falling in love
with each other. It leaves the audience feeling uneasy about what is going on
throughout the film but it also engages the audience.
Simple life events such as missing a train or arriving a few
minutes later are all part of what makes this story so intriguing. Marc (Benoît
Poelvoorde) meets Sylvie played by Charlotte Gainsbourg who eventually moves to
the US with her partner. Marc meets Sophie (Chiara Mastroianni) and they fall
in love instantly and plan and get married. Sylvie and Sophie are sisters who
are very close and this is where the problem arises.
Three Hearts or 3 Coeurs feature
France’s most loved actors Benoît Poelvoorde,
Charlotte Gainsbourg, Chiara Mastroianni and ofcourse the legendary Catherine Deneuve who plays the mother of the sisters.
I must say I really enyoed this film it had a lot of depth and was certainly not your happily ever after film. It was a great french film.
