JAMAICA

This year, the  Island of Jamaica celebrates 50 years of Independence from Great Britain. Jamaica was granted independence on August 6th 1962.  Jamaica is the third largest Island in the Caribbean after Cuba and Hispaniola (Haiti and Dominican republic). It is also the third largest Anglophone speaking country after the United States and Canada in the Americas. Jamaica has made a big impact on the world through Reggae Music and tourism is particular.

Why this Island stands out in the world? The answer to that question, is not a simple one. You see I never realised the impact of this little country had on the world. I believe it is their culture, music, rhythm and spirit for life that is what makes it so unique. The fact that all the countries in the Americas have a similar history is also evident but with Jamaica, the blend and mixture of different cultural groups has created our culture of today, which can not be compared with it's neighbours, but the history of it's people is also very important.

Jamaica is a blessed Island, that shines naturally.  Visitors and tourists from all over the world go to Jamaica to experience this magic and learn about their culture,  music and history as well as to enjoy the beaches and beautiful sights, and of course, there are endless activities to do in the island. You can never be in Jamaica for too long, believe me I know.

I have been to many countries in the world, and I must say I have never seen a country that can compare to the beauty and charm that Jamaica has to offer. The people are very warm, kind-hearted and jovial.

Nice country to visit, great experience highly recommended by me.
